IPNA - CSIC
Scientific Researcher at the Institute of Natural Products and Agrobiology (IPNA‑CSIC), specializing in supramolecular chemistry, molecular recognition, asymmetric synthesis, and organocatalysis.
He earned his Ph.D. from the University of La Laguna in 1996 under Prof. Víctor S. Martín and Prof. Carmen M. Rodríguez, followed by a MEC‑funded postdoctoral stay at The Scripps Research Institute with Prof. Julius Rebek. After returning to ULL as an Associate Professor and Ramón y Cajal Fellow, he joined CSIC, becoming Scientific Researcher in 2018.
His work explores non‑covalent interactions in recognition and catalysis, developing enantioselective organocatalysts and catalytic peptides. He has also held major academic roles, including service within the Spanish Royal Society of Chemistry and ANEP, and currently serves as Director of the IPNA‑CSIC
