She then completed a two‑year postdoctoral fellowship at Columbia University with Prof. Koji Nakanishi, conducting seminal work on retinal—the light‑absorbing vitamin A derivative essential for visual signal transduction.
Now at the Antonio González Institute of Bio‑Organic Chemistry (IUBO), she is known for characterizing marine metabolites, exploring their bioactivity, and leading regional and national projects on marine bioproducts. She also serves as a faculty member at ULL and contributes to multiple scientific committees.
