He earned his Ph.D. from Columbia University (1996–2002), completed postdoctoral research at Cornell University (2002–2004), and later joined the University of Rochester as an Assistant Professor of Chemistry, continuing there as a computational scientist until 2023.

Since June 2023, he has worked at Orogen Therapeutics. His expertise spans theoretical chemistry, molecular simulation, bioinformatics, chemoinformatics, high‑performance computing, data science, and machine learning. He has authored over 50 publications on gene‑regulatory network modeling, RNA structure, and protein–small‑molecule interactions.
